Exhaust help

Hey, I'd like to get a new exhaust to replace my crappy sounding pacesetter exhaust, but I dont have the money to buy a full quality catback system. (I need tires, brakes, kit, paint) so I was wondering if I could go with something like an OBX bomb muffler ($100) and run 2.25 piping ($45) to the cat.

Any comments on how this will look, sound, and any performance gains over my pacesetter

It should look ok and work pretty well performance wise. I think it is going to be pretty loud without a resonator because that muffler is straight through. I would still do the custom catback but maybe choose a different muffler if you are worried about the sound.

Hey, i did just that, bought a muffler and got 2 inch piping from my cat back. I got a maxspeed muffler and it has a very nice sound. They also took off my resonator and it isnt too loud w/o it. But then again, my engine is just a D15. Just food for thought.
